Tooth removal
Tooth removal takes out a tooth that can't be repaired, is very loose or is causing you problems.
Before removing it, the dentist explains whether there is another way to keep it and what comes next.

What happens at the visit
One visit to remove the tooth and, if needed, a recheck visit a few days later.

What to eat, how to care for the area and whom to call.
Good to know
Comfort
Here we use a local anesthetic, which numbs the area. If your case needs more than that, the dentist tells you beforehand and refers you to another office.
Alternatives, and what if you wait
Sometimes the tooth can be repaired with a filling, a crown or a root canal. If you wait, an infection can grow. After a removal there are ways to replace the tooth, such as a bridge or a denture.
Risks and after-care
A little bleeding and swelling the first day is normal. If bleeding doesn't stop, you have a fever or the ache grows after a few days, call us. If swelling spreads to your face, eye or neck, go to an emergency room or call 911.
How it's billed
It's billed per tooth. Before we start, you get the fee in writing.

Questions about this service
What about wisdom teeth?
Some can be removed here. If the dentist thinks another office can look after you better, he says so and refers you.
Can I work the next day?
It depends on your job and how you feel. Ask the dentist at your visit and plan the day together.
What can I eat afterward?
Soft food, cold or lukewarm, the first day. The written instructions explain it.
