Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most before a first visit.

Do you take my insurance?

We're in network with some PPO plans and out of network with the rest. It's explained on the fees page, in the insurance section. Call us with your plan's name and we confirm it.

What if I don't have insurance?

You pay for the visit, and before we start you get the fee in writing. You can take the estimate home before you decide.

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

The answer is on the fees page, in the insurance section.

Will it hurt?

We numb the area when needed, and stop whenever you ask. Some people feel pressure. If you feel pain, tell us.

How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

The dentist decides, based on your teeth and gums. It isn't the same for everyone.

What is a deep cleaning?

It's a cleaning below the gum line, one area at a time, when there's tartar there. The dentist explains it first and gives you the fee in writing.

Do you see children? From what age?

We see children over six, with an adult. For younger children, we tell you whom to call.

What counts as a dental emergency?

A broken or knocked-out tooth, an ache that won't go away, a swelling. Call us. If swelling spreads, you have trouble breathing or bleeding won't stop, call 911.

Do you offer sedation?

No. We use a local anesthetic, which numbs the area. If your case needs more, the dentist tells you and refers you to another office.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. Before any treatment we give you a written estimate, and a good faith estimate if you pay without insurance.

Do you speak Spanish?

Dr. Acevedo and Dr. Orellana see patients in Spanish. The front desk also books visits in Spanish. Dr. Exantus and Dr. Pangilinan see patients in English.

How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call us at (407) 555-0107 or write using the contact form. If you tell us in advance, someone else can use your time slot.

Another question?

Call or write. The front desk answers in Spanish or English.
